Jay has a background in financial analysis and modeling, affordable housing and quantitative data analysis. He specializes in community economic development and public sector financing with an emphasis on financial analysis.
Prior to joining BERK, Jay worked for a community development financial institution helping to increase access to capital for underserved and marginalized communities in the Pacific Northwest. Jay graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from Drexel University and received his Master of Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Policy & Governance from the University of Washington. As a graduate consultant, he developed a scalable, sustainable business plan for a mobile health solution serving mothers and infants in Kenya and an evaluation for the City of Bellevue providing recommendations on improving the usability and understandability of the city’s budget.
Though born in Seattle, Jay grew up in Philadelphia and lived in Telluride, Colorado before coming full circle by moving back to Seattle for graduate school. He most enjoys slashing dirt on his mountain bike, surfing powder on his skis, and sleeping under the stars. Jay lives in Wedgwood with his partner and their pup, Mina.
