Green Space Visioning in South Park and Georgetown

The South Park Green Space Vision Plan engaged residents, businesses, workers, and agency stakeholders to identify needs, opportunities, and priorities for improved public spaces in an underserved neighborhood. We engaged residents, businesses, local organizations, and Concord School students and parents in shaping plans for a network of open spaces, trails, and connections to the Duwamish River. Meetings included workshops, community events, discussions with organizations, student participation, and targeted outreach to ethnically diverse community members. Completed in June 2014, the broadly supported plan is guiding future actions and investments.

In a second partnership with the Seattle Parks Foundation in 2016, we designed and facilitated the community process and interactive workshops that established a vision for Georgetown parks, open space, public places, and pedestrian and bicycle connectivity. This Vision provided the basis for the Georgetown Mobility Project.

Marcia Wagoner led both visioning efforts.
