Carmen Smith

Carmen is an Associate Planner with a passion for community-centered planning and engagement. Her experience includes local community engagement projects, zoning code updates, housing action planning, and permitting. Her skillset includes qualitative data analysis, survey development, and facilitation.

Carmen has a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Washington and a B.A. in Environmental Policy from Western Washington University. During undergrad, she was a Long-Range Planning Intern at Kitsap County’s Department of Community Development, where she later became an Associate Planner. She also worked as a Planner at another local consulting firm.

Born in Northern California, Carmen moved to the Puget Sound area when she was four years old. Having grown up on (and currently a resident of) the Kitsap Peninsula, Carmen enjoys the easy access to the Olympic National Park and Washington Coast for hiking and camping. Also in her spare time, she loves playing tennis, cooking and baking, spending time with her cats, dreaming of home improvement projects, and traveling.
