Andrew is an Associate GIS and Data Analyst with a background in urban planning and technical writing. He is passionate about using quantitative analysis to inform policy decisions, to empower local governments and community members, and to further his own understanding about the places he calls home.
Prior to joining BERK, Andrew worked analyzing eviction data with Evicted in Oregon and doing housing policy work with the Sightline Institute as a Master's student, while spending his free time analyzing urban transportation and land use issues for his personal blog. He has a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University and a B.S. in Applied Physics from The Ohio State University.
Outside BERK
Born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin, Andrew is the only person from the Midwest in the Pacific Northwest who deeply misses his home state. In his free time, he enjoys walking through cities, riding his bike, and learning the political history of whatever local public transit system has most recently caught his fancy (currently: Milwaukee County Transit). He finds great joy in reusing old things, doing the crossword, and his morning coffee routine of a moka pot shared with his fiancée, Olivia. His favorite Agnes Varda film is Les Glaneurs et la Glaneuse.
