Julia has a background in community engagement and quantitative analysis. She specializes in engaging diverse groups around complex topics and ensuring all voices are heard. She has developed strategies to connect with traditionally underserved communities and has taken and facilitated trainings in effective DEI strategies for engagement.
Prior to joining BERK in 2019, she was the Northwest Outreach Manager for the National Parks Conservation Association. Julia graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, a Bachelor of Arts in History, and Interdisciplinary Honors from the University of Washington. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Not born—but raised!—in the Pacific Northwest, Julia is proud to have called Seattle home for all but one year of her life. Julia is deeply food-motivated and spends much of her free time cooking and trying new foods. You may also find her playing piano, planning her next international trip, going on neighborhood walks, or caring for her vast collection of houseplants.
