BERK led a team to develop Renton’s comprehensive PROS update with extensive engagement and new analysis methods. Our engagement plan included a community survey, interactive comment map, and Story Map, teen “internship,” and in-person pop-ups at existing community events. We also created a new park need index to support the capital project list and prioritization, which was comprised of sub-analyses for park condition, park completeness, access, social and health risks, population density, and planned growth. The resulting plan provides a roadmap of quick wins with high visibility and immediate impact; core investments for modernization, adaptation, and long-term stewardship; and projects to bring parks closer to where people live.
