Outside BERK, Yasir spends his time exploring Seattle’s neighborhoods, riding his bike, cooking delicious food for his partner, reading Seattle’s history, and studying maps. Born and raised in Iraq, Yasir lived in Syria and Jordan before immigrating to the United States with his family in 2014. After living in the Connecticut for three years, Yasir grew tired of East Coast winters and decided to move west. He loves living in Seattle and he’s invested in the city and its future. Yasir hopes that one day he can identify every street in Seattle and be able to recognize every intersection in the city. Yasir will try to walk through every street in Seattle by 2025.
